The Town of Wiarton

Wiarton sits at the foot of the beautiful Bruce Peninsula, a rocky finger of land pointing north between Lake Huron and Georgian Bay in north-central Ontario.

With over 500 miles of majestic shoreline, the Bruce Peninsula can offer visitors a wide variety of outdoor activities, rest and relaxation, sweet air, gin clear waters and unique scenery. It is a virtual paradise for naturalists and photographers, birders and botanists. Fresh water fishing is unparalleled and, for the adventurer, ... hike the world renown Bruce Trail, scuba dive our many ship wrecks, horseback ride, golf or simply soak up the warm sun on miles of white sand beaches. In winter, find 1,000 miles of groomed, well-marked snowmobile and ski trails. Wiarton is your entry point to this world of four- season wonders!

Nestled against the Niagara Escarpment at the head of Colpoys Bay, Wiarton is quaint and old-fashioned with turn-of-the-century buildings. It is the shopping and service centre for all your vacation needs.

Take a stroll along the Colpoys shoreline at Bluewater Park with its community outdoor pool, sheltered picnic areas and Pirate Ship Play Park or chat with the fishermen, the bird watchers and the boaters on the public dock. The tent & trailer park offers campers waterside pleasures with convenient shopping a mere two blocks away. The centrepiece of Bluewater Park is the Wiarton Railway Station, built in l904 and lovingly revitalized. Between May and September it acts as the regional Information Centre for tourists and visitor information & assistance.
