As a new municipality created by the amalgamation of the former Townships of Albermarle and Amabel, the Village of Hepworth and the Town of Wiarton, the boundaries now encompass some of the best natural recreational opportunities the Province of Ontario.  Fly, drive or boat in - there are accommodations and services anyway you chose to arrive. As the true gateway to the Bruce Peninsula the adventure starts here.
 
 

From the shores of Lake Huron to the shores of Georgian Bay, challenge the majestic escarpment by hiking the Bruce Trail, canoe the inland waterways, boat and fish the pristine waters or simply relax on the miles of sand beach at beautiful Sauble Beach.

Browse the shops in and around Wiarton or Sauble Beach, chat withthe locals in small country stores, visit the many attractions throughout the area, acquire a taste for local whitefish in one of our family or fine dining establishments. Rest from the days activities in one of the wide choice of accommodations offered.  Bluewater Park provides an ideal family outing with the historic Train Station, picnic shelter, ball diamonds, pirate ship playground, campground, boat launch, and Wiarton Willie memorial. Or join in the family fun at Sauble Beach with its white sand beach, picnic and playground areas, beach volley ball, mini-golf and amusements -  you just can't top it. This is a four season destination  - a welcome winter break is the Wairton Willie Festival, spring brings the tasty treats of the Purple Valley Maple Syrup Festival, summer is filled with the bounty of the natural environment and the fall is the time for local Fairs.
